Intern Placements: Meet Eritage

This past week an exciting event was held at one of our creative Industries placements. Eritage is a gallery based in the center of Lisbon. Their core beliefs focus on using art as a tool to achieve cultural and social evolution (as art has been used for centuries).

Our intern Ahmed attended the opening of their newest exhibition by Delia Hamer (DE/ES) & Lauren Roche (US). He said that… “My experience Eritage gallery open day was really captivating and immersive each piece of art you can stare and get lost to immediately each painting is so detailed and purposeful my fav part of the visit was speaking to one of the painters and her inspiration behind her work which she generously told me “it stemmed from Greek mythology and the idea of lust” after that conversation what she mentioned was actually ever so apparent in the art and that behind every brush stroke there is so much intention”

We currently provide both one month and three month placements at the gallery, with current interns assisting with the everyday running of the gallery as well as the promotion of events such as this one.

ERITAGE is located in the Portuguese capital, right in front of MNAA (National Museum of Ancient Art), challenging us to create a space open to intercultural dialogue, valuing diversity of styles, ideas and origins. So feel free to visit and view the pieces of work!

In addittion to the opening we also managed to speak to one of the new interns Laura from capacity London who works at Eritage gallery as an assistant we caught up with her to speak about her time, highlights and advice to future interns as an added bonus the owner of the gallery Johnny was kind of to also talk to us about what interns can expect working at the gallery and in return what he expects from them.

We hope that you enjoyed the video interview and found it insightful and got a glimpse of what it would be like to work at Eritage as we tried our best to showcase the gallery too!

The Eritage website provides lots of information about all sorts of upcoming events, activities and the tattoo studio hosted by the gallery owner. If you would like to learn more about upcoming placements at the gallery please visit our website.
